Montalcino Brunello Wine Tour

We start the day with a scenic drive through the Tuscan country side to our first winery, with incredible views of the valley and mountains around Montalcino. We’ll begin with a tour of the wine cellars before our first tasting of the famous Brunello wines. Next, we’ll visit the ancient walled city of Montalcino where we’ll tour the fortress, and enjoy a relaxing walk around the town. After our walk through Montalcino, we will have lunch at a family restaurant that serves food harvested from their organic gardens. It is small quaint and delicious. After lunch we will visit our second family winery, which includes a tour of their vineyards and an olive oil tasting.

 

Montepulciano Vino Nobile Wine Tour

We will visit two wineries in Montepulciano for a tasting of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and the Rosso di Montalcino wines.  There will be time for us to help our guests understand the history of these important and most nobile wines. They should not be confused with the wines from the region of Abruzzo, which follow a less strict set of wine making rules and are labled Montepulciano di Abruzzo. These less nobile wines are exported in large quantities to the USA. Be prepared to discover these Tuscan wines, made with a minimum of 70% San Giovese grapes. 

We will enjoy a traditional Tuscan lunch paired with the wines. There is time to explore the medieval town of Montepulciano and it’s main piazza which has appeared in many movie sets. 

This is a relaxing day in which we will explore the Valdorcia valley with time to stop and take in the breathtaking views. Bring your appetite and your camera for an amazing day in a wonderful Tuscany setting. Option to visit the old town of Pienza, noted for yet more amazing views and Pecorino cheese tasting. 

 

Chianti Wine Tour

We will visit two small production family wineries in the Chianti Region with lunch served at the second winery. Leaving from Siena we will drive into the heart of the Chainti Classico wine region. This region is dotted with over 500 wineries, rows upon rows of wines and olive tress. We always have time for photos at some of the very scenic spots. While in our air conditioned van we will have plenty of time to talk about the history of the Chianti Classico wines, we will drive along the historic trail and pass the castle where it all started over 300 years ago.

During the day we have the option to visit one of the medieval hilltop towns such as Castellina or Radda, and like a local a stop for an espresso or an artisanal gelato if you’d like.
